About the Group

My Mother's Fleabag (Fleabag for short) was founded at Boston College in 1980, by Barry Armata, class of 1981, as a way to imitate Saturday Night Live on campus. The group's name is a reference to a "fleabag motel" on Cape Cod, where each room has a different story, just like our improv skits.

When do we perform?

We host 2 shows per semester. Our "Cafe" show is students only, falling in October and February. Our "Big Show" is late in the semester, when we perform 3 shows over 2 nights in Vanderslice Cabaret Room.

Follow our Instagram to keep up with exact dates.

What does a show look like?

Our shows last roughly 75 minutes. We use different improv setups to create scenes based on what you the audience give us. If you raise your hand high enough, you might be called upon to be a part of a scene.

Can my kids come?

No.

Just kidding, yes. We are a family-friendly group.

Do I need tickets?

Nope, our shows are completely free. We will take your money if you want us to, though. Carlos will do a jig for it.

But are you guys, like, actually funny?

Come see for yourself.

But if you want seats, get there early.
